ITS OVER

... Well almost, two hours and five minutes to go. And yes I am counting down.

My favorite part of the class was the PowerPoint presentations. I think I got so much knowledge out of them. Not only by working on my own but by listening to my classmates present on a wide variety of topics. It was great!

I also owe this class an apology. For my talking at inopportune times and random laughing. Class was tedious at times but I am walking away with so much, I'm glad I stuck it out.

... I am mailing in my last car payment today! I am so excited it feels like a huge weight is being lifted off my shoulders! And its the last day of class. I have lots of reasons to celebrate today :D

Veggie Burritos...

are the best thing ever. I love the lettuce, cheese, guacamole, rice and beans.. did I mention the cheese? Yes, I love cheese. If the burrito is from Chipotle I wouldn't suggest trying to drive and eat at the same time lol. A lesson learned by me :D

The end of the semester is in sight and I haven't decided how I feel about its. Guess its crunch time!

Sinus Infection

I was diagnosed with my very first sinus infection yesterday! I've had a chronic cough for about a month now but the last 2 weeks it had been getting really bad. Then I started getting low grade fevers. Finally this week my throat was so sore from all the coughing that I lost my voice!!! I left work early and went to see Dr. Casalman. And she diagnosed me. I've never had allergies before but she said if there was ever a season for allergies in Las Vegas its now. I guess I didn't notice and it became an infection. Just my luck! I'm now home with a Z-Pak and Codeine.

On the bright side the meds let me sleep.

Spring Break

Over the break I went to San Francisco! And I have to say what lovely spring weather they are having! It was nice to be in familiar territory again. My dad lives about 40 miles away in the East Bay so I got to visit with him and my family there. It was nice to get away and not worry about anything. I stayed at the Holiday Inn at Fisherman's Wharf. Which was a great location. There was at least 9 bars within walking distance.
The best part of my trip was St. Patty's day. It was the first day we arrived there and because of the festivities, the airport had 1/2 price shots! And my friend Mayra and I are in no position to turn down cheap drinks (considering the state of the economy) lol. So in the hour before our flight left we worked up the Irish in us so much so that was soon as we checked in we walked to the closest bar (it was a karaoke bar) and continued celebrating. It was a great night! Granted the next morning I have a severe headache but none the less it was well worth it :D But it did remind me why I don't drink on a regular basis but hey it was a vacation.


HOUSE UPDATE:
I have not yet moved in, but tonight after class the last of my bedroom furniture will be moved to the new house. So tonight will be my first night there in a way, that is if I don't decide to stay at my other house one last night. I purchased furniture at Ashley's Furniture, and I love it!! I was only disappointed because they have to make it so that means it's not getting delivered until April 15. Also they laid tile in my kitchen and bathroom yay!

The Joys of Life

Right now my biggest personal goal is to no procrastinate. Or at least procrastinate less. I really hate waiting until the very last minute to get things done. It feels so nice to know that things are done and I don't have to rush. So I just have to tell myself, "Liz, don't be lazy. Just do it!"

As far as my house, I put up blinds, in all the rooms except one that will have curtains. Let me just say jeez blinds are expensive, but they look so nice. My mom painted a bathroom... lets just say disaster. It looks horrible but the more I look at it the better it looks lol. I've also hired someone to patch some holes, replace the baseboards and prime and paint the master bedroom. It will be easier to work on the house when I'm actually living there.

I have a question if someone can help me:
Where do I need to go to get my mail box key?? I have utility bills coming in soon and I have no way of opening it. Thanks in advance!

I'm a HOMEOWNER!!!

So as of March 2, 2010 I own a house.

At first I was really excited, the process of buying is so draining. Then I realized it wasn't over. Now I get to fix the house up! Yay me. Its not a lot, just painting, laying tile in the kitchen and bathroom, installing new carpet and blinds, changing the doors, and patching up a few holes from previous nails. I'm also buying a new dryer as mine is electric and the new house needs a gas one, new stove, and some new furniture. I'm excited about the buying part not some much about it being my money I'm spending. We'll see how it turns out I'm in no hurry to move out of my current residence. I'll keep ya'll posted on my progress.

Circus Freak!

So last night my mummie (what I call my mother) and her boyfriend decided to take me to the Ramos Bros. Circus. Let me tell you I had such fun. I can't remember the last time I was at a circus but it was FANTASTIC! My mom stuffed me with popcorn, and nachos. It was like being a kid again. My mom told me to enjoy it while she was still willing to take me out. And I did every last minute.

Another week gone by...

When I was a kid time felt eternal and now in my old age of (22 soon to be 23) it seems to just fly by. Is it just me or does time go by faster as you get older? Can I stop this because it's really not fun. Maybe I should start using anti-wrinkle creams now? I mean prevention is key! ha ha I really wish time would slow down so I could enjoy my life and really absorb all the great moments of my life. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way. Like in the movie, 'Click' except I would put parts of my life in slow motion.

Sometimes I wish I still lived in small town USA, time seemed to go by slowly there. But miss the hustly and bustle of Las Vegas?? Never I'm here for at leaset another 4 years.

Broke my hippo bank today :(

First let me just say my 'hippo bank' is just a like a piggy bank except its the head of a hippo. I have a thing for hippos, but that's a whole other post. Anyway as I was saying I was putting money in my hippo bank and it broke!! Which really sucks because it was a gift from my younger brother. I had a friend come over and he cleaned it all up for me which was really nice but as he was finishing up he mentioned that it was considered bad luck. Oh course to add to my already high stress level now I have bad luck to worry about. Can someone just please give me my care free life back?? Anyone?

IS 101 thus far

Just for reference to anyone who may come across this blog. It was an assignment for class. I have a feeling it just might grow on me though.

Today is my third day in class and so far so good. Right now the class seems easy but I'm sure at some point it will catch up to me and I will feel more productive being in class. I know there are definitely things I can work on. Mr. Wu seems cool and sincere about wanting the class to learn (does that get me extra points in class??).
